The Meaning Behind COSU

You hear about people setting up businesses and coming up with a name instantaneously. Unfortunately, my experience was not that easy! I spent years with a note tab on my phone, jotting down ideas, none of which felt right. Ultimately, I decided to create a new word that I hoped would convey the essence of the brand I envisioned. This is how I came up with Cosu Studio.

The word “Cosu” was forged to reflect our core values and vision. "Co" stands for "conscious and considered," representing our commitment to thoughtful and intentional design in every aspect of our work. The "Su" in Cosu is derived from the Japanese word "spesu" (スペース), which means "space." "Spesu" is a modern adaptation of the English word "space” which seemed to align beautifully with our philosophy of creating mindful environments.

In essence, Cosu embodies the harmony of conscious living and mindful spaces, combining Western and Eastern influences to craft serene and functional living areas.
