Our process is designed to honour the individuality of each of our clients and their projects, while ensuring a seamless and inspiring journey.
Once we’ve had our initial discovery call, I’ll provide a preliminary budget for both the FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) and the interior design service, tailored to the scope we discuss.
Here’s how the journey unfolds:
1. Defining the Foundation:
We begin with a site visit and obtain a measured survey to truly understand the space. From there, I’ll create a preliminary interior design programme, outlining timelines for each phase, from conceptual design through to installation. This roadmap ensures we’re always aligned on progress.2. Designing with Intent:
The design phase is where creativity flourishes. I approach your home space by space, presenting concepts for areas like the lounge, dining, or kitchen in a series of meetings—either over Zoom or in person. During these sessions, I’ll share material samples, bespoke joinery designs, space visuals, and curated furniture selections.Your feedback is invaluable, and I’ll refine the designs until they feel just right. Sustainability is at the heart of every choice, from sourcing reclaimed materials to partnering with artisans who share my commitment to eco-conscious practices.
3. Perfecting the Details:
With the overall designs approved, we move into the technical phase. This includes refining bespoke joinery details, finalising lighting and electrical plans, and preparing comprehensive schedules covering every detail, down to the last handle or tap. These documents are shared with your chosen contractors, and I’ll help review their pricing to ensure we’re making the best decisions together.4. Bringing the Vision to Life:
Throughout the construction process, I liaise with contractors, artisans, and trades to ensure the designs are executed to the highest standard. Regular site meetings and reviews keep everything on track, while I continue sourcing and procuring furnishings, lighting, and even art to bring the scheme to life.5. Installation and Storytelling:
Finally, we install and style the space. This is where your home truly comes together, a harmonious blend of thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and your personal story. Every detail—from the texture of a reclaimed wood table to the precision of bespoke joinery—reflects the collaboration of skilled makers and the consideration of sustainable materials. We will create a home that’s not only beautiful and functional but one that feels deeply connected to you, crafted with care and intention.

At Cosu Studio, care for the environment is at the heart of everything we do. I believe that thoughtful, eco-conscious design is not only better for the planet but also better for our souls.
Here are some of the ways I incorporate sustainability into my work:
Reclaimed and Natural Materials: I prioritise using reclaimed materials where possible, and use lots of wood, as it’s a renewable resource.
Low VOC and Natural Finishes: We strive to use paints and finishes with low to no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) to ensure healthier indoor air quality and a reduced environmental impact. Lime-based paints and natural finishes such as beeswax are a staple in our designs, combining beauty with eco-consciousness.
Working with Artisans: I collaborate with skilled local craftspeople to design bespoke furniture and joinery, reducing the environmental impact of mass production while supporting traditional craftsmanship.
Eco-Conscious Sourcing: Where possible, I select sustainable brands and suppliers that align with my values, from energy-efficient lighting to upholstery made from recycled or biodegradable fabrics.
Longevity in Design: I create designs that are built to last—timeless aesthetics combined with high-quality materials ensure your home remains beautiful and functional for years to come.
Repurposing and Retaining: Wherever possible, I incorporate existing furniture or architectural elements into new designs, giving cherished items or original features a second life.
Sustainability isn’t just a consideration; it’s a guiding principle. Every decision, from material selection to collaborating with eco-minded partners, is thoughtfully made to reflect your values and contribute to a better future.
If sustainability is a priority for your home, let’s explore how we can bring your vision to life in an environmentally conscious way.

I generally collaborate with my clients' chosen contractors, ensuring we maintain a seamless process while also respecting any existing relationships you may have. I’ll work alongside your team, providing clear design guidance and overseeing the project to ensure everything aligns with the vision.
However, for certain elements of the project, such as bespoke joinery or unique craftsmanship, I specify and work directly with my trusted network of artisans and specialist tradespeople. This ensures that the quality and attention to detail meet the highest standards, while still working within the framework of your existing contractor team.
My role is to ensure that all aspects of the design, from the big picture to the fine details, come together perfectly.

The duration of an interior design project can vary greatly depending on the scope and complexity of the work. Here's a general guideline for different types of projects:
Small-Scale Projects: These typically take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. This can include room refreshes, design updates, or smaller renovations where the focus is on sourcing furniture, selecting finishes, and styling the space.
Medium-Sized Renovations: For projects that involve structural changes, such as kitchen or bathroom renovations, the timeline may range from 12 to 20 weeks. This allows for design development, sourcing materials, and the coordination of contractors.
Full Home Renovations: Larger-scale renovations, such as whole-home redesigns or major refurbishments, can take between 6 to 12 months upwards. This includes detailed design work, bespoke furniture, custom joinery, and the project management required to bring your vision to life.
Throughout every project, I ensure that timelines are clearly outlined and we remain aligned every step of the way, from initial concept to final installation. The exact timeline will depend on factors such as project scope, materials sourcing, as well as contractor availability and their construction timeline, but rest assured, I'll work to ensure the process is as smooth and efficient as possible for you.

A discovery call is the first step in our journey together and an opportunity for us to get to know each other better to see if we could be a good fit! During the call, we’ll discuss your vision for the project, any specific needs or challenges you may have, and the overall style or feel you're aiming to create in your space.
I’ll also ask questions about your goals, timeline, and budget to understand your priorities and how I can best support you. This is also a great time for you to ask any questions about my process, my approach to design, or anything else you’d like to know.
By the end of the call, we’ll have a clear understanding of whether we’re a good fit to work together, and I’ll outline the next steps in the design process. If you’re ready to move forward, I’ll send over a proposal tailored to your needs.
